I absolutely LOVE all of the fun colors and patterns of treat bags at party supply stores. There are so many to choose from! The only downside is that they can be pricey... especially if you would like to mix and match a couple of coordinating patterns. Well, I thought is would be fun to make them out of wrapping paper and I came up with a little template and tutorial to share as well.
There are two templates to choose from. The bigger one is the size of the ones you find at party supply stores, and the smaller one is just a great size to use if you don't want to go as big as the other one.
First, print off the template you want to use.
You can download them HERE:
Begin by tracing the template onto your wrapping paper. I would normally use a pencil, but I used a pen here so you could see it better.
Flip the template on the midline...
and trace the other half of your treat bag.
Then, cut it out. I like to make a fold in the bottom little flap to give myself a line to follow when folding the sides of the bag.
Open your bottom flap and fold your two sides. You want to fold your sides, starting at the top with the inner corners (by the little arches) as your beginning point. As you fold, be sure that the bottom follows along the fold line you made in the flap before.
Use a glue stick (or an adhesive of your choice) to seal all of the flaps.
Make sure to seal all of the flaps well.
Fill with candy and you are finished! They are actually really easy and quick to make.
I like folding down the top and wrapping a ribbon or twine around the bag. I think it is so fun.
I love how quick and easy they are, and how you can make them to match any holiday or party!
I hope you are having a great week!
