We try to avoid crazy over-processed foods as much as possible, and especially when it comes to little Ella, fresh is always better. We really love my version of Homemade Mac & Cheese in a Mug, and I wanted to make an easy microwave mug version of spaghetti-ohs as well.
I love the option of making these in the microwave because you don't have as many chemicals and other grossness that you find in a can. And this is truly just as convenient! win-win!
My Ella scarfs this down. She LOVES it. I do too.
Homemade Single-Serve Microwave Spaghetti-ohs in a Mug
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup short (salad) macaroni
- 1/3 + 1/4 cup water
- 2 1/2 Tblsp. your favorite tomato pasta sauce I like one that has garlic
- 1/4 cup shredded colby jack cheese
Instructions
-
Mix macaroni and water in a microwave safe bowl or large mug (I use a big soup mug). Microwave for 7 minutes, stopping to stir at the following marks: 5 minutes, 4, 2, 1, 30 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir in the sauce and cheese. Microwave for another 30 seconds. Remove from microwave, stir again and serve immediately.
So delicious, creamy, and flavorful.
Here is a little tip for you. Use an ice cube tray, measure out and freeze your leftover sauce so you have it all ready to go to make this in the future. You just pop them out of the trays once they are frozen and stick them in a freezer bag and you are all set! Just pull one out when you are ready to make this, and you have the perfect amount with no waste.

I am a freshman in college, and I just made these in my dorm. Perfect for a change from the usual dining hall food!

This looks yummy! I used to love eating these as a kid, but don't buy them now because of the garbage in them. So excited to give this a try. Thanks for sharing this!

So I JUST bought these noodles (Target Simply Balanced) for my 1 year old so I didn't have to cut up the noodles...I have been so annoyed making a big pot of them when he eats like 4 tbs... I am SO excited to see this post and be able to throw a handful in the microwave!!! xoxo from a tired working mamma who feeds her kid natural and healthy!
